A pachyderm is an animal with thick skin (like an elephant, rhinoceros or hippopotamus) -we also are called to have such a love of Christ that we grow 'thick skin' when it comes to the storms and battles we encounter in life. Mary offers many tools that can help in such a process, but ultimately offers that it is by single-hearted love for Jesus that we allow Him to defend us, strengthen us and to conquer in all things.
