Book for the Persecuted Christians in Afghanistan

Here’s the Dari cover of my first book for Afghanistan. We changed the cover -taking off my photo and arranging the words to resemble a burka to make it more culturally sensitive to those who might encounter it.

I still need at least $2500 to complete this project (at least to get it launched into Afghanistan).
Please storm heaven and please be generous and help- any donation big or little lifts this cross from my shoulders. Can you be St Simon of Cyrene to me (and the Afghani people) this morning?

From one of my translators:
“I have received a few messages from Afghanistan... These people are really waiting for these books. These people are in pain and suffering so they need to read something that gives them comfort. So I will complete this task at any cost.”
“According to my reliable sources, christians (even many others) are really in trouble in afghanistan.
We have faith in our lady and her son that these books will bring hope and comfort there.
Suffering of christ and Afghani people are similar in many ways.”

St. Miriam the Little Arab (St. Mary of Jesus Crucified), pray for us!

St. Miriam the Little Arab (St. Mary of Jesus Crucified), pray for us!

Feast Day: August 26th.
I have been re-reading all of my books about this holy soul this week preparing for a podcast I will be doing in the next couple of weeks about saints who intercede for Muslims.
When I was in the Holy Land for a month in 2008 everywhere I went I saw this beautiful face staring at me -and I kept asking in shops who she was and if they had any books about her. In all of Jerusalem there was only one book in English about her and it was $40 -I had been swindled by the French (sisters) who ran the hostel where I was staying and I literally had no money. They had quoted (promised) me a price for rooms in USD and when I went to pay they changed it saying, 'The dollar isn't so strong today.' A French Canadian man came to my rescue and along with Jesus telling him to pay for me, he paid for my book about St. Miriam of Jesus Crucified.
As I began working in North Africa and the Middle East among Muslims I began thinking about her again and trying to remember to pray for her intercession. Once the Taliban started murdering Christians in Afghanistan last week and we began the project of translating my books to be sent to these people, I printed out big pictures of St. Miriam (entrusting the project to her intercession along with St. Charles de Foucauld and St. Charbel). I threw the one random picture of St. Therese of Lisieux in the middle because she encourages me in my discouragement as much as her sister St. Miraim.
Miriam's life is incredible. She is from Nazareth -her parents had 12 sons all who died in infancy and they made a pilgrimage to Bethlehem to ask the Lord for a daughter and they conceived her. They had another son a year and a half later -but both parents died within days of each other when Miriam was three and she and her brother were sent to separate families and never saw each other again. Miriam was set on belonging only to the Lord -so when her uncle arranged a marriage she cut off her hair and refused and he beat her terribly and left her with the slaves. She went to visit a Muslim who was traveling to her brother's village and brought him a letter to give to her brother. The Muslim pitied her beaten state and tried to convert her saying 'what religion would do this to a child/woman?' When Miriam staunchly declared her belief in Jesus and the Catholic Church the Muslim turned on her and slit her throat -in essence killing her -and threw her to the garbage. But a beautiful woman (Our Lady) dressed in blue and white stitched her throat and nursed her back to health, leading her to a church where the parish priest took pity on her and got her a job as a nanny/housekeeper. Eventually her work took her to France where she joined the Carmelites and eventually she returned to the Holy Land to found the Carmels in Bethlehem and Nazareth.
Her life is incredible -she had the stigmata and many mystical gifts -and I have much more to share, but I will do it on my podcast. But today is her Feast Day and I strongly encourage you to pray to this simple, holy soul today... and please, as you are entrusting your hearts and intentions to her intercession, please pray for our project in the Middle East (especially in Afghanistan) and especially for the funds we need to print and transport these books.
St. Miriam, the little Arab -St. Mary of Jesus Crucified, pray for us!!!
FROM HER WRITING AND BIOGRAPHY:
“A nun dressed in blue picked me up and stitched my throat wound. This happened in a grotto somewhere. I then found myself in heaven with the Blessed Virgin, the angels and the saints. They treated me with great kindness. In their company were my parents. I saw the brilliant throne of the Most Holy Trinity and Jesus Christ in His humanity. There was no sun, no lamp, but everything was bright with light. Someone spoke to me. They said that I was a virgin, but that my book was not finished. "
She then found herself once again in the grotto with the “nun dressed in blue”. How long did Mariam remain in this secret shelter? She later spoke of one month, but she was not sure. One day, the unknown nurse prepared some soup for her that was so delicious that she greedily asked for more, and all her life she was to remember the taste of this heavenly soup. On her death bed she was heard to say tenderly, "She made me some soup! Oh, such good soup! There I was a long time, looking, and never ate soup like that. I have the taste in my mouth. She promised me that at my last hour, she will give me a little spoonful of it."
Toward the end of her sojourn in the grotto, the nurse in blue outlined for Mariam her life`s program, "You will never see your family again, you will go to France, where you will become a religious. You will be a child of St. Joseph before becoming a daughter of St. Teresa. You will receive the habit of Carmel in one house, you will make your profession in a second, and you will die in a third, at Bethlehem."
The scar on her neck remained the rest of her life.
Mariam herself later wrote:
“After my wound was healed I then had to leave the grotto and the Lady took me to the Church of St. Catherine served by the Franciscan Friars. I went to confession. When I left, the Lady in Blue had disappeared.”
Years later when in ecstasy, on September 8, 1874, the anniversary of the attack and the feast of our Lady’s nativity, Sr. Mariam said, “On this same day in 1858, I was with my Mother (Mary) and I consecrated my life to her. Someone had cut my throat and the next day Mother Mary took care of me.”
Once again, in August 1875, when she was on a boat going toward Palestine, she recounted what she remembered to her director, Father Estrate, and she stated precisely, "I know now that the religious who cared for me after my martyrdom was the Blessed Virgin."

God plants where He wills and uproots where He wills.

God plants where He wills and uproots where He wills.

God is always teaching me through nature. Here's another lesson I learned yesterday while watering my plants on my balcony.
This little pink flower on the left starting growing from the roots of my hibiscus tree. Now, when you have a bunch of plants close together, cross pollination happens -a few of my cacti randomly have spring flowers growing out of them. But what amazed me with this was first that it happened even though I have rocks at the base of this tree to keep the dirt grounded. And secondly, because this little pink flower was transported from the plant (that you can barely see) way over on the bottom right corner of this next picture. It wasn't a neighboring pot where it chose to grow -it was in the pot of the hibiscus tree on the opposite side of the balcony.
What amazes me with this is its symbolism for my missionary life. That's exactly what God has done with the little I have given Him this side of eternity -He's taken it and replanted the seeds of grace on the total opposite side of the world in a pile of rocks (in places where flowers don't usually take root -in desert lands where Islam dominates and Christians are poor, hidden and persecuted). And yet, He's forming perfect little flowers (through the souls we have been able to touch) and He's bringing forth life just because we were docile and said 'yes' to His plan.
If you feel like your life is not bearing fruit for the Lord, you might need to look further... it might not be your neighbors or friends who are being touched by His grace through you as much as those who you don't necessarily see right now. I had no idea that this flower had been planted and although I water these plants daily I never noticed anything growing in these rocks -but suddenly this morning, there was a big pink flower shining in the sun.
God plants where He wills and He uproots where He wills... and we just need to surrender to whatever it is He thinks is best.

Episode 73: Mary Kloska Speaks About St. Rose of Lima and St. Martin de Porres

Tomorrow is the Feast of St. Rose of Lima -my podcast this week is about her life and spirituality along with her Dominican brother and friend, St. Martin de Porres.

"If only mortals would learn how great it is to possess divine grace, how beautiful, how noble, how precious. How many riches it hides within itself, how many joys and delights! No one would complain about his cross or about troubles that may happen to him, if he would come to know the scales on which they are weighed when they are distributed to men." -St. Rose of Lima
"When we serve the poor and the sick we serve Jesus. We must not fail to help our neighbors, because in them we serve Jesus." -St. Rose of Lima

Donations for the Underground Church in Afghanistan...

I am begging for prayers and donations for the underground Church in Afghanistan.

Time is of the essence.
This is such an incredible project but I do not have the needed $6000. These people are literally willing to die to get this accomplished because they find such spiritual merit in it. Please pray for miracles…
I need big prayers please! Someone has found a Muslim man whose whole family was killed by the Taliban in Afghanistan to translate my books into Dari – the language in Afghanistan. And we already set up an underground railroad after it's printed to smuggle it into those who are suffering most in Afghanistan starting in bigger cities out to remote places. We have priests working on the project and everyone is very nervous but very excited.
To get it translated printed and then bused in to the places necessary it will cost $6000 to get 1000 copies of each of my books, "The Holiness of Womanhood" and "Out of the Darkness".
So I need to come up with this money in the next week or two.
If you know anybody who is interested in directly helping the people you see beaten to death on TV please ask them to donate something to the project. Sacrificing money is nothing compared to the atrocities going on over there. I read an article yesterday on women and Afghanistan and how they're beaten to death simply for being women. The underground Church has said that my book 'The Holiness of Womanhood' will silently give them healing, hope and strength hidden away in their homes.

And "Out of the Darkness" will bring healing, strength and hope to all of those on the verge of martyrdom daily. There was a woman on the phone with the underground Church in Kabul yesterday and the people said that they were willing to die for Jesus -their children said, 'Don't worry, Mommy, we won't deny Jesus.' And then the phone call was interrupted with gunshots and no connection has since been made. These people are requesting that my books be distributed among them -they will be sort of like the Veronica cloth wiping the face of Crucified Jesus.

Can you please be part of this compassion by praying for this project and making a donation?
And please pray for the safety of everyone involved. Everyone involved in these projects puts their lives on the line – but they think it's worth it to spread the gospel and to heal souls, even if they know that being Christian "is certain death". Everyone needs prayers from the Dari translator to those organizing it to the priests distributing it to the bus drivers carrying it to the printer printing it. Thank you! Huge miracles are about to happen but I need prayer and money.
Please share this post -especially with anyone who might be willing to help. It is nothing but miraculous that the Lord has opened such a clear road for us to directly help these people. If you know priests or people who have extra money who would be willing to collect donations, please beg on my behalf.
TO HELP YOU CAN EITHER SEND ME A DIRECT DONATION THROUGH PAYPAL MARKING 'FRIENDS AND FAMILY' OR THROUGH ONE OF MY TWO GOFUNDME FOR THIS PROJECT ("The Holiness of Womanhood for Persecuted Christians" or "Out of the Darkness for Persecuted Christians").
Thank you for your prayers and donations!

Project for Afghanistan

 A BIG PRAYER REQUEST!!

My people on the ground in the Middle East are working on getting my books translated into Dari (a Persian Dialect spoken in Afghanistan) and smuggled to the persecuted and suffering Christians (and women) in the country. This project needs lots of prayer for swift translations, protection, fruitfulness and for donations to have them printed somewhere and transported to those who need it the most. Please take a second and read this article -these books are needed for healing and strength in Afghanistan more than ever right now. And please keep this in your prayers and consider a donation once the time comes to get them printed. Any donations I receive for books right now will be saved for this project.

These books have totally transformed the lives of people in Pakistan. They just celebrated Independence Day with a book launching ceremony of my fourth book -I will include pictures in a separate post -but one person said that even if they were celebrating Independence Day, Christians were not independent yet -yet 'Mary Kloska's books are finally giving us true freedom'. That freedom is what comes in the teachings of Christ and His Catholic Church -especially about the dignity of women, of all human people. We can give the same hope and healing to Afghanistan now, with your prayer and help.

St. John Paul II, St. Edith Stein, Archbishop Fulton Sheen, St. Miriam the little Arab, St. Charles de Foucauld, pray for us.

Book Launching Ceremony in Pakistan

Thank you to all of you who have prayed for and donated to the project of getting my books distributed for free in Urdu in Pakistan.

These books have totally transformed the lives of people in Pakistan. They just celebrated Independence Day with a book launching ceremony of my fourth book -the pictures of this ceremony are below -one person said that even if they were celebrating Independence Day, Christians were not independent yet -yet 'Mary Kloska's books are finally giving us true freedom'. That freedom is what comes in the teachings of Christ and His Catholic Church -especially about the dignity of women, of all human people.
Here is an update on the book launching... please continue to pray for these courageous persecuted Christians (who the Lord is now calling to go out as missionaries to help spread the Gospel of Jesus). And please consider donating to this cause of continuing to spread these books in the Middle East.
"Greetings to you.
Hope you find this message in the best of your health and serving our Lord.
I am really thankful to God and feeling overjoyed to share with you that “A Heart Frozen in the Wilderness” is now available in Pakistan. I was able to have a very beautiful book launching ceremony for this book on 14th of august. It was incredible launching as young people, a few priests and children participated in this event. The day was very symbolic.
It was our independence day. And many participants shared that it is our independence day but Christians are not free and independent yet. One of my regular and active members of the group who has read all of your books said that "after reading Mary Kloska’s book, now finally we are getting free. Now we know the real dignity of women and person." What she said was very true and heart touching.
I have also experienced that your books are bringing people to tears and these tears are washing their guilt.
After this launching a group came to me and they mentioned their desire to go on a mission. They were really touched with your experiences and encounter with God. They felt your closeness with God in difficult times.
I was happy to see their interest in the mission. But I did not know what to say to them exactly. So I asked that certain group to come the next day. At night I prayed a lot and God answered my prayers.
In Pakistan we have five (first we had four) provinces. And every province is different from one another. Sindh is one of these five provinces. I have lived in this place for two years. I had my pastoral work here when I was in seminary. This province has a totally different culture, different language, different customs and different situations. People here are extremely poor.
So the next day I talked to that group and I told them that we cannot go on a mission to any other country. But we can go to this place for a short time on a mission. I told them from my own experience that this place is very rich in culture. This place offers a lot to learn. I have few friends there, I will talk to them to help this group to go there and experience God and pray with them. This book has opened a new door.
I shared this idea with a priest who is with me in 'Children of the Cross'. He was really happy to listen to this. I have requested our all 'Children of the Cross' to pray for this purpose.
I also invited Sozaina’s family. But only her father came. She herself and her mother still taking time to go out and meet people. Her father was very grateful for all the prayers.
Your every book is full of wisdom and love and hope. People here, now, every day praying for you. Whatever you have written in books they did not listen to before. People are being healed.
Thank you very much. I am sharing a few pictures of this launch and some other pictures. I will be sharing a lot more."

Episode 72: Mary Kloska Speaks About Praying for 'Impossible Things'

“Nothing is impossible for God.” –Lk 1:37

Title: Episode 72: Mary Kloska Speaks About Praying for 'Impossible Things'
Description: In this episode Mary talks about God's promise to us that 'nothing is impossible for God.' She touches on Scriptures that build our confidence in prayer with faith and hope in Jesus' Own words (and promises) of Love. She talks about saints who are known as patrons 'of the impossible' and she explains why sometimes it seems God might not be answering our prayers, when really He is just answering them differently than we expected.
