PLEASE CONSIDER AN END OF THE YEAR DONATION!!

Our books have been printed in Pakistan!
We are so excited to start distributing and selling them next week. The first group will be sold to make enough money for additional printings, from which the free books will be given away. The women of Pakistan suffer so greatly. ABC news ran an article this week about how 1000 girls are kidnapped or tricked and then forced to convert to Islam -many of them young girls of ages 13 or 14 forced to marry 45 year old men. It is very disturbing.
Women in general are not respected in this area of the world -and now for the first time they will have an opportunity to learn the Catholic Church's teaching on the dignity and vocation of women as taught by our holy St. Pope John Paul II, St. Edith Stein and Archbishop Fulton Sheen. I wonder if these saints ever dreamed that their beautiful teachings would be used to heal the wounded women of the Middle East by their work being translated into Urdu. For more information on the situation of these suffering girls in Pakistan, please see: https://abcnews.go.com/.../year-1000-pakistani-girls...
And PLEASE CONSIDER A DONATION to make this book available for free for these wounded women and those who care for them.
Just $5 provides a book for one of them.
What a wonderful way to end the Year and to honor Our Lady on Her Feast Day tomorrow -as the Mother of God.
Each book you donate to Our Lady's daughters in Pakistan is like a ROSE offered to Our Lady in Love. In fact, one book to heal one soul is worth more than an entire Church full of roses.
If we can raise enough money for this project in Pakistan, I have priests who work with young Christian women/girls in other Muslim areas of the world (Zanzibar, for example) who have requested copies of this book in English as well.
Our Lady of Pakistan, pray for us!
Our Lady of the persecuted ones, pray for us!

The Holy Family in a Siberian Forest

Happy Feast of the Holy Family!

Here's my new icon with the Holy Family (inspired by a Siberian Forest).

St. Joseph has green -as the earthly father of Jesus. Mary is surrounded by yellow, white and pink -'overshadowed by the heavenly presence' of the Holy Spirit. St. Joseph has purple roses on his garment -the suffering he will hiddenly endure as the husband of Mary and the father of Jesus. Mary has red roses -the suffering she will live in union with Her Son. Baby Jesus is clothed by the green of his earthly father -for He was fully human and part of the earthly Holy Family. But He also is surrounded by the yellow and white -the Divine Love of Heaven -as the Word made Flesh, the Second Person of the Trinity. He is surrounded -the little 'rose bud' ("A shoot shall sprout from the stump of Jesse" (Isaiah 11:1) -with the purple and red roses of Joseph and Mary. Jesus is encircled with light -as the 'Little Eucharistic Victim' -whose hands and heart are already pierced with nails and pouring forth little drops of blood for us.
And the Holy Family is in a Siberian Forest -like a desert -and yet there is something regal in this natural cathedral in the woods. Jesus came not only for the people of Israel, but for all peoples of all times... including those hidden in the tiny wood cabins in Siberia who hid their Church's icons and chalices under their beds for years during Communism. The Immaculate Heart will Triumph through Russia, Our Lady said in Fatima... and where the Immaculate Heart triumphs, Jesus' Sacred Heart leads and St. Joseph's Heart is united to them through love protecting them.
Merry Christmas.
To purchase copies of this icon, please see my Artist Shop (link is HERE -there are often very good sales 15-30% off and free shipping if you watch for sales). The prints are all good -I was having a problem editing the journals, pillows, mugs, etc., -so if you are interested in these please give me a few hours for the issue to be resolved. Thank you!!:

Episode 37: Mary Kloska Speaks on St. Joseph for Advent

My WCAT radio Podcast this week is on ST. JOSEPH! Obviously, I had no idea that Pope Francis would declare this a 'Year of St. Joseph' on December 8 -but this is a great introduction to the man God chose to be the husband of the Blessed Mother and the father of Jesus on earth. It is an incredible introduction for all of you wanting to 'launch your heart' closer to St. Joseph as you prepare for Christmas with him and begin to journey throughout this year with him. Please LISTEN, LIKE and SHARE!

Title: Episode 37: Mary Kloska Speaks on St. Joseph for Advent

Description: In this episode, Mary speaks about St. Joseph's role in the coming of the Messiah. She introduces St. Joseph as a man, as a friend and as a spiritual brother and father for the listener. She discusses his place in Scripture and reflects on the Seven Sorrows and Seven Joys of his life with Christ. She reviews his titles in the Litany of St. Joseph and shares reflections on his relationship with Mary and Jesus for the many years he spent as their caretaker and guide. This episode surely will give the listener a new love for St. Joseph and a knowledge of his heart.

Episode 36- Mary Kloska Speaks on the Book of Isaiah and the 'O Antiphons' of Advent

In this episode, Mary helps the listener go deep into preparation of their heart during Advent for the coming of Baby Jesus. She explains the differences of the four weeks of Advent and goes through meditations on the readings provided by the Church for this time from the book of Isaiah. She discusses the call to repentance, to being the 'little lamb' saved by God, the spousal relationship of God with the soul and finally the consummation of a heart (that has been well prepared and disposed) to receiving the gift of Jesus incarnated into their life as Our Lady and St. Joseph did. At the end she goes through the 'O Antiphons' that are prayed the final week of Advent and explains the graces that we can find for our own lives within them.

Episode 35: Mary Kloska Speaks on the Gift of Poverty

“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Luke 12:32-34

MY PODCAST THIS WEEK SPEAKS ON POVERTY.
Please LISTEN and CONSIDER and SHARE
People probably won't 'like' this post much because I am asking you to concretely consider your life and possibly (gasp) change something. 🙂 I don't know your personal situation, but when I reflect on these things it always gives me a cause to re-evaluate and go deeper into living the Gospel.

Title: Episode 35- Mary Kloska Speaks on the Gift of Poverty
Description: In this episode, Mary talks about Christ's call in the Gospel for all Christians to embrace poverty. She explains how Jesus set the example of poverty for us to follow, the various types of poverty, including examples of the unique ways the Lord has asked for her to live it (especially in the missions) over the years. She speaks on Christ's words in Scripture about poverty and about how the different saints embraced this virtue. She also draws heavily from Thomas Dubay's book, "Happy Are the Poor" explaining basic principles of living poverty in a holy way, what poverty is not and the differing way Christians could be called to live poverty based on their vocation and state in life.

Episode 34: Mary Kloska Speaks on Being a Saint

"The only tragedy in life is not to become a saint." -Leon Bloy

Today is the Feast of Christ the King -and we celebrate His Kingship over us and how we are destined to eternally dwell and reign with Him in heaven.
We do that by being saints.
Even here... now... today.
My radio podcast this week is about how we do this.
Title: Episode 34 -Mary Kloska Speaks on Being a Saint
Description: In this episode, Mary opens with the famous line of the French philosopher Leon Bloy, 'The only tragedy in life is not to become a saint!' She then goes on to explain what it means to be a saint. Drawing from the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Mary describes our relationship with the saints, the process that Jesus takes a soul through to become one and how the saints in heaven intercede for and help us on our journey. She also gives specific examples from the life of St. Pope John Paul II.

What does it mean to be a 'worthy wife' of Christ?

Jesus, He Loves Me

Is Anyone Worthy?

Title: Episode 33- Mary Kloska Speaks on The Seven Sorrows of Our Lady and 'The Softener of Evil Hearts'
Description: In this episode, Mary speaks about Our Lady of Sorrows. She describes the traditional seven swords that are seen piercing Our Lady's Immaculate Heart, but she also explains additional sufferings that Our Lady underwent as the Mother of the Savior. Mary touches on the meaning and power of a heart willing to suffer with Jesus -Whose path was covered by bloody footprints of the Cross. And she introduces the Orthodox icon of Our Lady of Sorrows, which they entitle 'The Softener of Evil Hearts.' Mary also prays the listener through the Akathist Prayer for Our Lady of Sorrows, the Softener of Evil Hearts.

Episode 32: "Alone with the Alone" -Mary Kloska Speaks on Living Radical Solitude as a Desert Dweller

"Alone with the Alone."
Here's my radio podcast this week- please LISTEN and SHARE. +
Title: Episode 32: "Alone with the Alone" -Mary Kloska Speaks on Living Radical Solitude as a Desert Dweller
Description: In this episode, Mary speaks about the radical call that God gives to some souls to leave absolutely everyone and everything in this world to dwell 'Alone with the Alone.' She touches on the call to the hermit life that we are familiar with in the West, but also introduces us to very unique souls of the Orthodox faith who often went into the wilderness to dwell alone with God. These very devoted souls show to us how a simple life devoid of worldly cares and focused solely on God can greatly glorify Him and be a shining light to people left in the world. Mary particularly speaks about 'Maria of Olonets' -who lived in the Northern Forests of Russia, 'Anastasia' -also from that region, Fr. Zosima -a desert dweller from Siberia and St. Mary of Egypt. Through this podcast the listener is encouraged to find their own little space and time of solitude in the midst of their busy lives to hear the 'still small voice' of God.

Two Really Holy Women

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2011

Two Really Holy Women

This is from a few years ago, but it’s about today.
"When one finds a worthy wife, her value is far beyond pearls. Her husband, entrusting his heart to her, as an unfailing prize."
(Proverbs 31:10-11)

These were the opening words of our First Reading on Sunday.

Yesterday the Church celebrated two such womenboth of whom would be powerful models for modern-day wives and mothers. The first of these is the mother from Maccabees -this holy woman truly understood that all children are a gift from God, whose sole purpose in life is to bring Him praise and glory. From this deep belief of her heart, she encouraged all seven of her sons to martyrdom -begging them to give up their earthly lives in order to gain eternal life. From 2 Maccabees 7 we read:
"Most admirable and worthy of everlasting remembrance was the mother, who saw her seven sons perish in a single day, yet bore it courageously because of her hope in the Lord. Filled with a noble spirit that stirred her womanly heart with manly courage, she exhorted each of them in the language of their ancestors with these words: "I do not know how you came into existence in my womb; it was not I who gave you the breath of life, nor was it I who set in order the elements of which each of you is composed. Therefore, since it is the Creator of the universe who shapes each man's beginning, as he brings about the origin of everything, he, in his mercy, will give you back both breath and life, because you now disregard yourselves for the sake of his law."
"...She leaned over close to her (youngest) son and said in their native language: "Son, have pity on me, who carried you in my womb for nine months, nursed you for three years, brought you up, educated and supported you to your present age. I beg you, child, to look at the heavens and the earth and see all that is in them; then you will know that God did not make them out of existing things; and in the same way the human race came into existence. Do not be afraid of this executioner, but be worthy of your brothers and accept death, so that in the time of mercy I may receive you again with them."

If only mothers today would train their children with such fervor and holy surrender to God, that they would rather see them die than be unfaithful! How many little 'gods' and idols does our culture present before the eyes of our children -and mothers today have the most difficult task of teaching their children to reject such temptations of culture (temptations of excess riches, power, lust, selfishness, popularity). May this Maccabean mother intercede for all of you, who also must teach your little ones to love God radically enough to defy the world, especially when it is necessary in order to remain faithful to His Gospel of humility and purity of heart.
The other woman celebrated yesterday was St. Margaret of Scotland -another great model for those trying to raise holy, polite children in an often rude and selfish world. Catholic Online describes her life as thus:
"Margaret was an English princess. She and her mother sailed to Scotland to escape from the king who had conquered their land. King Malcolm of Scotland welcomed them and fell in love with the beautiful princess. Margaret and Malcolm were married before too long.
As Queen, Margaret changed her husband and the country for the better. Malcolm was good, but he and his court were very rough. When he saw how wise his beloved wife was, he listened to her good advice. She softened his temper and led him to practice great virtue. She made the court beautiful and civilized. Soon all the princes had better manners, and the ladies copied her purity and devotion. The king and queen gave wonderful example to everyone by the way they prayed together and fed crowds of poor people with their own hands. They seemed to have only one desire: to make everyone happy and good.

Margaret was a blessing for all the people of Scotland. Before she came, there was great ignorance and many bad habits among them. Margaret worked hard to obtain good teachers, to correct the evil practices, and to have new churches built. She loved to make these churches beautiful for God's glory, and she embroidered the priest's vestments herself.
God sent this holy Queen six sons and two daughters. She loved them dearly and raised them well. The youngest boy became St. David. But Margaret had sorrows, too. In her last illness, she learned that both her husband and her son, Edward, had been killed in battle. Yet she prayed: "I thank You, Almighty God, for sending me so great a sorrow to purify me from my sins."

Life is More Beautiful With the Base... Eternity

Episode 31: Mary Kloska Speaks on The Gift of Being a Failure

Do you feel like everything in life you touch fails?

God entrusts something big to you and suddenly it falls apart?
For no apparent reason a close friend shuns you?
Maybe your children who you formed in the faith left the Church?
What about a healing that you prayed for for years and the person continues to be ill or their heart is just plain hard and closed to grace?

You are not alone.
A sign of true greatness in the lives of the saints was being a failure.
The Cross looked like the greatest failure of all time. Jesus came as the Savior of the world and they totally rejected Him and killed Him on the Cross.

And saints weren't saints because they succeeded at everything or were superheros. Mother Teresa used to say, 'God doesn't ask us to be successful, but to be faithful.'
Often those saints who we count as the greatest, in their own estimation failed at what they truly felt God calling them to do, to be -for Him.

What God asks of us is to give Him everything and to live heroic TRUST that He can take our little efforts and weave a beautiful tapestry from the shreds of our lives that glorifies God.

My podcast this week is about THE GIFT OF BEING A FAILURE. It is a gift because it makes us humble and it makes us more like our Crucified King. Please LISTEN TO THIS this week and PLEASE SHARE IT.

Title: Mary Kloska Speaks on The Gift of Being a Failure

Description: In this episode, Mary speaks about the reality of being a failure even in the spiritual life and how this can be a gift allowed by God in order to help the soul grow in humility and bear even greater fruit. Mary reflects on St. Paul's words, 'I boast in my weakness' and 'God chose the foolish of the world to shame the wise, the weak of the world to shame the strong.' She looks to the examples of many saints who in many exterior ways seemed to 'fail' at what they were trying to accomplish for God on earth -but whose virtue was sharpened by the experience. And she shows how God made all work out to bear great fruit in the end -even if it was sometimes after their death. The greatest example she turns to is Jesus Himself on the Cross -Who appears to have failed in His Mission as He hung bleeding on Calvary. And yet, it was through what some see as His greatest human failure (allowing Himself to be crucified) that He was able to save all souls from hell and open up for us an eternity of joy with Him in Heaven. She encourages the listener to simply be faithful to what God has asked of them in life with true faith, trust, and hope -while leaving the results of one's work in the hands of God.

Episode 30: Mary Kloska Speaks about the Carmelite St. Teresa Margaret Redi -Being a Victim of the Sacred Heart's Love

My radio/podcast this week speaks about being a VICTIM of THE SACRED HEART'S LOVE. I specifically talk about St. Teresa Margaret Redi (Carmelite) and St. Margaret Mary Alacoque who gave their entire lives to burn of victims of love in Jesus' Heart. I also tie it with St. Teresa of Avila (whose name St. Teresa Margaret took) and St. Therese of Lisieux who later lived and taught the same spirituality as Teresa Margaret, and even was named Doctor of the Church for living and teaching what her 'older sister' had 150 years earlier.

These are the waters where Mary Kloska lives. 🙂
Please LISTEN, and please SHARE.

Title: Episode 30 –Mary Kloska Speaks about the Carmelite St. Teresa Margaret Redi –Being a Victim of the Sacred Heart’s Love
Description: In this episode, Mary continues with her theme of the saints finding union with Jesus through their experience of His Love on the Cross. She especially focuses on the Carmelite St. Teresa Margaret Redi, who took her name from St. Teresa of Avila and St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and who shared their deep love for Jesus, especially of His Sacred Heart. She also explains the similarities between the spirituality of St. Teresa Margaret and St. Therese of Lisieux who would come to live a similar hiddenness and childlike confidence almost 150 years later. Mary explores what it means for St. Teresa Margaret to live as a victim in the fires of Love coming forth from the Sacred Heart of Jesus and how such an intense devotion was able to completely consume her in God’s Love and conform her to Christ in the very short 23 years of her life. The listeners will hopefully be inspired to immerse themselves in Jesus’ Sacred Heart and imitate His Love in their ordinary lives.

Help the Persecuted Church and Abused Women in Pakistan Receive a Free Copy of My Book, "The Holiness of Womanhood"!

Can you please help me help the persecuted Church and wounded women of Pakistan?
Even just $5 would provide one book for one woman.
We change the world one soul at a time.

These are pictures of the Urdu translator of my book, "The Holiness of Womanhood" speaking at different seminars for various religious denominations about my book in Pakistan. The incredible teaching of St. Edith Stein and St. Pope John Paul II on the Dignity and Vocation of Women from my book is being taught to the people (specifically women) of Pakistan regardless of religious background in the simplest ways. But getting them physical books would be incredibly transformative. PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING TO THIS CAUSE.
The link to my GoFundMe page is at the end of this post.
I have a new GoFundMe project having to do with providing my book, “The Holiness of Womanhood” to Persecuted Christians.
PLEASE BE KIND ENOUGH TO READ AND SHARE THIS!
Can you imagine your daughter being kidnapped, raped and then forced into a marriage with an older Muslim man? It sounds horrifying, but this is the situation of women and girls in Pakistan. I have personally been contacted by several parents begging me to get them out of the country in order to save their daughters because they are afraid. Both the National Geographic and the Telegraph named Pakistan along with two other countries as the top three worst countries in the world in their treatment of women. Just googling articles on this I found these that relate horrifying first person stories of what life is like there for women.
Open Doors, an organization that helps the persecuted Church throughout the world has said that they had to withdraw their on-ground help in Pakistan because of the threat it caused to the lives of those they served. They provide very thorough information here about the plight both of Christians, as well as women in general, in Pakistan. They list the persecution of Christians as ‘Extreme’.
My translator in Pakistan has shared detailed information about how my book, “The Holiness of Womanhood,” and the Church’s teachings on the Dignity and Vocation of Woman has already healed many men and women who have come into contact with the Urdu text. And we are still working on the printed version. Unfortunately, women are treated terribly in their society –both inside and outside of the Church –and he said that by reading this book their eyes have been opened to a new way of thinking and approaching women. To synthesize the situation he explains:
• I hope our main concern of Urdu translation is to heal many women who are spiritually and physically wounded in Pakistan.
• These women belong to different fields of life. They come from urban and rural places. They are simple and many times not very educated and rich.
• I have healed myself after reading this book and wish that other men and women get healed too.
• This book gave me new vision and eyes to see my daughter, wife, mother, sister and many other women.
• Our women in Pakistan have been badly treated by society and church.
• This book will give them some hope to find Jesus.
• Our church even catholic church has not been fair to women. Women have been treated as an object. Women do not have any visible or decision-making place in church.
• So, may be this book might give us less profit but it will bring hope and new life in women.
• I know the importance of this book. This book is so insightful. Our women are going to read something that they have never thought. For this thanks to Mary.
· I am sure this book will quench the spiritual thirst of many men and women.
• Though people do not have this book in Urdu yet, Mary really has inspired our women already. I have shared her amazing life story with my people especially women (both young and aged).
Already my translator has been gathering rural, uneducated women into small groups and reading excerpts from my book to them. They are inspired. They realize their worth as daughters of God. The whole society (Muslim, Protestant, Catholic –rich, poor) is being challenged by these thoughts.
Books are very expensive for Pakistani people. Most homes can’t even afford to buy a Catholic Bible. And so I suggested that I set up a GoFundMe to see if we could raise money to purchase copies of the Urdu translation of my book (once it is printed in Lahore, Pakistan) to distribute to those who are most in need, as well as those who would have the greatest influence on society. If women knew their worth and how to connect with God, they would be healed. If priests read the Church’s teachings as laid out in this book, how could they not relate differently with women –in a new way different then their Muslim-influenced culture, instead inspired by the teachings of Pope John Paul II, St. Edith Stein, Archbishop Fulton Sheen and above all else, the women saints and Our Lady as presented in it?
The first several thousand dollars of this GoFundMe will go towards providing books for those in Pakistan. After we are able to provide a few thousand, some of the funding will go towards providing books for a few poor areas of Africa and India with the same needs. For example, in Uganda often teenage moms are abandoned and there is a couple who runs a home for these young women and their children who would love to use this book in formation. And I am already working with people to translate it into two Ugandan languages. But once the translation is completed, we will have to get printed texts to Uganda (or print them there) and distributed to the most poor and persecuted in their society. There is another girls’ school run by a good priest in Tanzania in an area dominated by Muslims and Muslim thought (which is very contrary to the dignity of women). I would love to eventually provide him with books for his school. There is another girl’s home in India who I have regular contact with that is in the same predicament. These people are poor and caring for the poorest of the poor –but through the teachings of this book, their eyes and minds could be open to a new beautiful truth about the dignity of women and this, in turn, could transform their societies.
But we will start with Pakistan.
There are 204 million people in Pakistan -4 million of which are Christian. We are unsure of the price of the books in Pakistan as of yet –most likely we will try to make them available in Urdu for around $4-5 considering the plight of the people. I hope to at least provide 2000 free books to people (at least at the beginning). Which means we need at least $10,000. Of course, I would like to do much more. After the first 2000 books are set, I will look at providing some for these pockets of homes for abandoned/abused women/girls in Africa and India. And after providing books for them, continue on with more books for Pakistan. Unless I find a donor who is set on all of their donation going towards one particular country.
CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME?
In prayer, yes. But also with a donation? We seriously could change the tide of women in the Middle East with this project.
