One can clearly see by meditating on St. Edith Stein's writing about St. John of the Cross, how these two saints were deeply united in heart through uniting with Jesus Crucified in life and in death. She explains how it is the fire of God's Divine Love that draws a soul through suffering into a total transformation of a mystical marriage to Christ.
