Afghanistan...

 AFGHANISTAN!

As I have shared before, we are working with the underground Church in Afghanistan to support them through prayer and spiritual nourishment. We are the ONLY outside support they are receiving at this time (at least amongst the Catholics we are serving).

We have sent thousands of books to them, as well as two missionaries to help form prayer groups. They have requested additional copies of my book 'Out of the Darkness' in Dari, since reading about the interior suffering of Christ is giving them great healing, strength and hope. They have also requested 1000 copies of my book 'Mornings with Mary: A Rosary Prayer Book' and so we are translating it into Dari.

I have had to pay for this all myself. We usually don't pay translators -but considering that only the Muslims we have contact with speak the languages well, we hired a very trustworthy Muslim to translate it and then the translations are being double checked by Catholics. This is the FIRST TIME the Hail Mary has been translated into the native Dari language of Afghanistan... and through our work we are equipping the people -especially children -with a weapon of hope that cannot be overcome -it is the weapon of the Rosary and a deep relationship with Mama Mary.

The people have also requested copies of my icon of Our Lady of Pakistan -with the purple rose of suffering on the top left corner representing the persecuted Church in Afghanistan. We have printed a few hundred of these icons and are having them blessed by an Archbishop (along with exorcised salt) and will send them along with the books.

One of the greatest miracles of these books and prayer groups in the Middle East are the converts, which I cannot share with you. But I am allowed to tell you anonymously that our Dari translator is desiring to convert after working on translating the Catholic Prayers in my Mornings with Mary prayer book. His story is below.

WE STILL HAVE A GREAT NEED OF HELP FROM YOU! We desperately need $4000 for this project for Afghanistan. This covers translations, printing of 2000 books, 300 icons and then transportation of them to the underground Church. I also suggested that they send large quantities of exorcised salt to these people to sprinkle around their homes to protect them. I am literally begging you not only for prayers, but for donations. There is probably no other Catholics suffering greater in the world than in Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover. And you can help them -simply by helping me give them the tools they need to grow in prayer. Prayer can change the world.

Regarding the translation updates, he has translated five chapters of “Mornings with Mary” into Dari.

The translator has shared with me. He is deeply touched with these prayers. He acknowledged that for the first time after reading and translating these prayers he is feeling peace in his heart.

The translator is really inspired and touched with these prayers. He has never heard about these prayers. He hesitantly shared that these prayers are urging him to convert. This is a miracle. I told him that we would talk about this. I don’t have a separate and safe place for these converts, therefore I am always extra careful about this. But these prayers have really touched the soul of the translator.

The presence of the Holy Spirit and Our lady is very much visible in this project.

And, our printer has started Icon’s printing as well. I assured him and the translator to pay them when I receive the money.

The printing of icons of our Lady of Pakistan is complete. I will collect it tomorrow. Then I will talk to Archbishop (depending on his availability) or any other priest to bless these icons and salt.

Regarding the translation, he has completed seven chapters.

The translator is deeply touched with these prayers. When he read the “Hail Mary” and reflected on this prayer, he shared that women in his culture and tribe are considered as a thing and treated very badly. He was deeply touched to know that all women are sacred and loved by God. When his wife read Hail Mary, full of grace, she also had tears in her eyes. He told me that the prayers that he has translated into Dari, are being recited every day in his house by his family. It is a miracle in indeed that how Our lady has touched his and his family life. his whole family (especially women in his family) are grateful for this book “Mornings with Mary”.

We are continually praying to God to provide for this project as the salvation of many souls in Afghanistan is waiting for these books.
